Temperatures for the period averaged 38.1 degrees across the state which was 0.2 degrees cooler than normal
. High temperatures averaged from 48.6 in the West to 47.5
in the East. Departure from normal high temperatures ranged from 0.5 degrees cooler than normal in the West
to 1.7 degrees cooler than normal in the East. Low temperatures averaged from 36.1 degrees in the West
to 27.4 degrees in the East. Departure from normal low temperature ranged from 6.2 degrees warmer than normal
in the West to 0.4 degrees warmer than normal in the East. The extreme high temperature for the period
was 77.7 at Knox county and the extreme low was -13.4 at Bath county.
Precipitation (liq. equ.) for the period totaled 20.22 inches statewide which was 4.16 inches above normal
and 125.9% of normal. Precipitation totals by climate division, West 22.24 inches, Central 21.51 inches,
Bluegrass 16.62 inches and East 20.51 inches, which was 4.59, 4.28, 2.68 and 5.09 inches above normal.
By station, precipitation totals ranged from a low of 14.36 inches at Harrison county to a high of 29.52
inches at Harlan county. Dewpoint temperatures for the state averaged near 29.6 degrees.
